Smithtown, NY – St. Catherine of Siena
Medical Center, in Smithtown, Auxiliary President Georgia
Preibe presented the hospital with a check for $8,800 which
was raised from the Auxiliary’s Fourth Annual Rock-a-Thon.
Proceeds from the Rock-a-Thon, a fund raising event, will
benefit the expansion and renovation of St. Catherine’s
Outpatient Lab Services.
“St. Catherine’s Auxiliary gives one of the most
precious recourses they have--their time. We value the commitment
our volunteers have made to provide a positive experience
for patients and their families. Their fund raising efforts,
generosity and continued support are sincerely appreciated.
They are an integral part of our team,” said Sharon
Kennish, RN, Executive Director and Chief Administrative Officer.
Participants of the Rock-a-Thon agreed to rock for 30- minute-
time periods and just like a walk-a-thon Pledges were then
solicited from the rocker’s family, friends and neighbors.
More than 29 local elected officials, St. Catherine’s
BOT members, Leadership, employees, volunteers, friends, family
and local community members participated in the successful
fund- raising event.
