St. Catherine of Siena Medical
Center welcomes its First Baby of the Year
Christine Hernandez and Kevin Bucheli of Brentwood, spent
their New Year ’s Eve in the maternity department at
St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center, Smithtown. The proud
parents rang in the New Year with the birth of their daughter,
Scarlett Paige Bucheli. Baby Bucheli was born on January 1
at 3:09 AM, weighing 6lbs. 13 oz., 20 inches long.

Welcoming the hospital’s first baby of 2008 were, Executive
Director & Chief Administrative Officer Sharon Kennish,
Vice President of Administration Philip Bruno and Senior Vice
President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer
Gara Edelstein. A basket, over flowing with newborn baby essentials,
was presented to the parents, compliments of Babies “R”
Us, Commack.
