Welcoming the Last Baby of
08, First Baby of 09
Smithtown, New York - While the New Year
celebration took place in Times Square, St. Catherine’s
Maternity Unit was steadily busy, instead, delivering and
celebrating both the last baby of 2008, and the first baby
of 2009. St. Catherine’s last baby of 2008 was Nieve
Jolie Deitsch. She was born to Sarah Murphy and Seth Deitsch
at 7:55 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31st, weighing 3 pounds
and 15 ounces. Although baby Nieve was born prematurely she
was a great surprise to her parents, and is doing well. As
a reward to the parents of the last baby of 2008, Suffolk
County Marketing Specialist James Vento of H&R Block will
be supplying the couple with a free tax preparation coupon.
St. Catherine’s first baby of the New Year, C.J. Rennert,
was born to Christopher and Deirdre Rennert at 5:16 a.m.,
weighing in at 8 pounds and 5 ounces. The family of the first
baby of the year received a starter basket from Babies R US
of Commack, presented by their Coordinator of Marketing and
Promotion Eileen Laureano. Both bundles of joy were welcomed
by their parents, family, friends, and by the staff of St.
Catherine’s Maternity Unit. ###St. Catherine of Siena
