A “House Project” at St. Catherine’s

Smithtown, New York - Nesaquake Middle School
challenged its eighth grade students to fully understand human
physiology through hands-on experience. Ariana Forohar, Melanie
Bornschein, Marisa Whiteman and Angelica Bevinetto, took their
assignment very seriously. “We were assigned a medical
condition by our teacher and we had to make it come to life,
so we wrote a script based on the show House,” said
Ariana. The four students recreated a scene that not only
captured the cynical nature of Dr. House’s character,
but they analyzed conditions and treatments in the same genius
fashion. The exercise was meant to have the students engage
in human physiology, beyond the doors of the classroom. The
students had fun with the assignment and discovered new acting
and script-writing skills, all while completing the task of
learning about human biology. St. Catherine’s was happy
to help in the education process.
