Dr. Khan Elected Medical Staff President
On January 1st, Dr. Rashid Khan, a vascular surgeon at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center, took on a new role as Medical Staff President. Previously, Dr. Khan had served as a chairperson of the performance improvement council for two years. As the new Medical Staff President, Dr. Khan will work with the Medical Center> '> s nearly 600 physicians, representing 60 medical surgical specialties to coordinate with physicians and hospital administration the best possible patient care. Add to the mix, the responsibility of recruiting new physicians with the knowledge and expertise in innovative and advanced medical treatments, and you have what would be more than an overwhelming task to most individuals. Dr. Khan is well suited for this unique challenge.

Among numerous affiliations, Dr. Khan is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the New York Society of Vascular Surgeons.
Dr. Khan has been practicing medicine in the Smithtown community for over 23 years. He resides in St. James with his wife and they have 3 adult sons.
